A few more nutcracer pics...

Well, here are a few nutcracker pictures... I just realised that I did not really take that many... But there were a few more (I think). I dont have a camera, so I borrowed my dads and he has emailed them to me. Thanks dad:)

Here is (from the left) Ida as the snow queen, me as the sugarplum fairy, Maria as the flower fairy and Linda as Clara:

Me as the sugarplum fairy... I made the costume myself except for the white tutu. I ordered that....

Some nutcracker pictures...

The leader of RAD in norway is thanking Camilla for the performance. She talked for a looooooong time... (I am the one in the purple tutu in the middle...)

Well, there have been posted some pictures from the nutcracker on my ballet schools website, so I am posting some of them here as well... Learning from "Tianshi" today was sooo cool!!! Have not had that much fun since the nutcracker (that is a hard one to top)

Ida as the lovely snow queen with a lot of snowflakes around her:)

Our lovely Valeria as little Clara (we had two, and they were both lovely...). Valeria will be moving to Miami at christmas. It is sooo sad! She is extremely talented though. She will be a ballerina for sure!

Linda as big Clara and Thomas as the nutcracker prince:

Project week...

Well, this week has been quite bussy. Have been doing a lot of observation around different dance classes and in a childrens school. And we have to write a 6 page report on it and incorporate learning theories (behavioristisk, cognitive, sosiokulturelle, konstruktivistisk..dont know all of them in english..). Jeez... A lot of work. And we have another assignement due in pedagogy, two in anatomy and one in choreography! So there is quite a lot to do... This week has been a project week, so we have not had our usual timetable. We have also split the class in two. All the girls (who are on a bit higher level than most of the boys) have been doing repertoire, modern and jazz with Siri Dybwik. She is our jazz and modern teacher, and she also has her own company (website: www.dybwikdans.com). Tomorrow we are going to learn a section from their latest performance, "Tianshi". I cant wait!!! It will be sooooo cool!!! Here are some pictures from that performance:

The nutcracker is over....

Well, came back to Stavanger this morning on the night train. Could not sleep much on the train because someone was snoring really loudly! Extremly annoying. And of course it is not ideal to sleep sitting in a train seat... Oh, well. And then I just went home, had some breakfast and went straight to school. We did not start till 10 today, though. Then we had modern and repertoire until 12.30. We have observation practice tonight. We are going to watch a class that is jazz 7-9 years old.

But the Nutcracker!!! OMG! It was sooooooo much fun!!! It was the coolest thing I have ever done in my life. Everything went really well, but of course things could have gone better... I could not manage the doubble pirouettes properly and stuff. But hey... Then on sunday I helped out with the other performance that was called "Showbiz awards". I helped out backstage with keeping track of people and helping with quick changes and stuff. It was a lot of fun, but the weekend was really hard. I am sooooo tired now... But I would not have missed this experience for anything!

I will post some pictures from the performance soon:)

Just around the corner....

Ok, people! The nutcracker is just around the corner. The dress rehersal is on friday and we are having two performances on saturday. I am so excited I am practically jumping while sitting here! I am going to get the train back tomorrow in the middle of the day. I was really supposed to take the night train tomorrow night, but sitting on the train all night is exhausting, so when I got the chance to get an earlier train, I jumped at the chance. I will miss graham technique class and anatomy tomorrow, but I have almost perfect attendance, so it wont do much harm. I will catch up...

Teaching yesterday went great! The students were very nice. I especially liked the grade 6, 7 and the teen class. The primary class was pretty nice and I enjoyed it, but baby ballet was hard. It is sooo hard to keep their attention when they are 3 years old.. They were all about 3-5. Jeez.... I had them concentrated for about 20 minutes and then it got a bit harder. But hey, it was my very first time being alone with a class of kids that are that young. And I did learn a whole lot. An assistant in the class would certainly have helped. Oh, well. Its all good...

Gotta go pack now! OMG I am excited!!! I will just have ballet class tomorrow morning, then I am going back home to get my stuff and then getting the train. Nutcracker, here I come!!!!!!!!!!!

Teaching!!! Sooooo excited!!!!

Well, well. I have finished the sugarplumfairy doll. She even got little pointeshoes made out of a pair of old pointe shoes...

I am soooooooo excited right now. I have gotten a job (well, it is just for one time because a teacher is sick, but still..) as a teacher at the culture school here in Stavanger! So tomorrow I am going to teach grade 6, baby ballet, primary, grade 7 and free class for teenagers! I am so extremely excited! I have been planing a lot and I think it should be fine. They are doing the RAD system, but as I dont have the music, I will have to do free classes with them. I am going to bring the ballerina doll to have in the kids classes. I am going to call her "Bettina Ballerina" (Bettina is a norwegian name...). Bettina loves pointed feet (even though her feet are completely flexed... oh well). I though that might be a cool teaching trick... We will see how it works out. Wish me luck....

The nutcracker!!! Soon!!!

Well, I have not written in quite some time. But there has been quite a lot to do... I went home last weekend to attend the stage rehersal of the nutcracker! I think it will be really good. The costumes look amazing!!! Camilla has really done a faboulus job with this performance! I have made my own costume, and right now I am in the process of making a costume for the sugarplum fairy doll. The doll that comes to life as, well, me... So the costume the doll is wearing has to be the same as mine. A picture here of how it is going so far, will post another picture when it is all finished. I am soooo excited about the nutcracker!!! How am I going to manage waiting for two weeks (almost)? Oh, well, it is not like it is not enough to do...

Our jazz teacher has really increased the fitness level we have to have. The exercises go into each other almost with no stopping, and the isolation exercise and the kicks straight after is really a killer! We will all be so fit!!! ;)

I am starting too feel the autumn darkness come to me a bit... Am feeling a bit down and stuff, but the nutcracker is keeping me up. And the fact that school is amazing! So it will be ok.
